Purpose Of Role (Technical Designer for Greater China):
The role holder provides Network Consultancy, Design, Implementation and Support professional services to our major client’s greater china operations. Activities will include in-depth analysis, design (both for high and lower level network solutions), deployment, support and consultancy.
Key Responsibilities:
o To lead on aspects of WAN/LAN Networking / IPT / Wireless / Security & Mobility technology domain from requirements capture/definition through proposal development. The work may range from investigating new technologies to developing scaleable and resilient solutions.
o To interpret client needs, assess the full requirements, and identify suitable solutions.
o To input to cost/timescale solutions/options and manage expectations as appropriate with the customer
o To lead on the service delivery and network solution implementation.
o To manage suppliers and vendors in ensuring the quality services are delivered to the customer.
o To provide support and troubleshooting service for the network infrastructure related incidents and problems
Qualifications:
o Typically engineering/science degree.
o Typically hold expert level industry certifications. E.g. Cisco CCIE, Juniper JNCIE etc.
o Typically have 5-7 years of industry experience in WAN/LAN Networking / IPT / Wireless / Mobile / Security technology domain
Skills/Experience:
o Experienced and fully competent in installing, configuring & troubleshooting Cisco routers, Switches. Strong knowledge in Ethernet, MPLS, Wireless LAN, ISDN, IPSec, HSRP, TCP/IP, PPP, EIGRP, BGP, QoS, Multicast, ACLs, SSL VPNs, IP Telephony and Voice Over IP.
o Completes own role independently and with minimal supervision.
o Can interpret client needs, assess the full requirements and identify solutions to non-standard tasks/queries.
o Is aware of internal/external business issues and best practice in own discipline and can apply this to own role.
o Able to manage own time to meet agreed targets, and to develop plans for specific work activities in own area over the short-term, including forecasting resource requirements.
o Good team player
o Possess good communication skills in written and spoken Mandarin and English.
